Association for Women in Science Announces 2026 Scholarship Recipients

WASHINGTON DC, June 5, 2026 – The Association for Women in Science (AWIS) announces its 2026 scholarship recipients:

  • The AWIS Opportunity Scholarships for Career Re-entry are awarded to Heather Jensen and Gayatri Malhotra.
  • The AWIS Distinguished Doctoral Research Scholarship is awarded to Judith Mwobobia.
  • The First-Generation College Student Scholarships are awarded to Nisha Khatri and Kiara Concepcion Moreno.
  • The Kirsten R. Lorentzen Scholarship is awarded to Emma Linscomb.
  • The Dr. Vicki L. Schechtman Scholarship is awarded to Emily Cruz.

 

“AWIS is proud to award scholarships that will advance the STEM education and careers of these seven outstanding AWIS members,” said Meredith Gibson, CEO of AWIS. “We were inspired by their talent, curiosity, and determination, along with that of the other applicants. These women will advance their fields, create meaningful impact in their communities, and build the future that AWIS exists to champion.”
