Envisioning STEM Workplace of the Future [Video]

In this video, Mary Ann Mason, PhD, provides evidence-based recommendations to create family-friendly policies in academia and other workplaces, including removing time-based criteria for fellowships and productivity assessments, discounting resume gaps due to family issues, providing relevant instructions to peer reviewers, and collecting necessary data to ensure Title IX compliance. Mary Ann Mason is Associate Professor of Law and Social Welfare at the School of Social Welfare, University of California, Berkeley. She is the author of The Equality Trap, coauthor of Why Kids Lie, and coeditor of Debating Children’s Lives: Current Controversies on Children and Adolescents.
