Association for Women in Science Announces Partnership with Drexel University
WASHINGTON DC, April 16, 2024 – The Association for Women in Science (AWIS) proudly announces Drexel University is the latest organization to join its partner program.
“This partnership will allow all members of the Drexel community to benefit from AWIS webinars and programming, compete for scholarships and funding, and utilize AWIS’s Career Center for faculty recruitment,” said Dr. Leslie Ashburn-Nardo, Drexel University Vice Provost for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.
Drexel University has a long history of cutting-edge scholarship and innovation in science and continues to invest heavily in the areas of health, engineering and technology, design, and the social sciences. Drexel also has a history of making education and opportunity accessible to all people.
Dr. Ashburn-Nardo explained, “Our founder’s philosophy emphasized accessibility, and this partnership with AWIS is a natural extension of our commitment to fostering an inclusive environment. This partnership will empower our students, faculty, and staff to thrive in STEM disciplines. I am especially excited to learn more about The Inclusion Habit and how my office can use it to help us advance our strategic goals around equity and inclusion.”
