AWIS Announces New Partnership Agreement with Medpace, Inc.

Cincinnati, Ohio, September 20, 2023 – The Association for Women in Science (AWIS) is pleased to announce a new partnership with Medpace, Inc., a Contract Research Organization (CRO) headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio.

“AWIS welcomes Medpace to our community,” said Meredith Gibson, AWIS CEO. “We respect their commitment to people, communities, and the environment and look forward to connecting with their employees who are making a difference in people’s health and lives.”

Medpace is a global CRO that employs over 5,600 people across 41 countries, with a mission to accelerate the global development of safe and effective medical therapeutics. Medpace employs strategic measures to attract, develop, retain, and advance talent at all levels to sustain organic growth and continue its mission. The company strives to maintain a culture of diversity and inclusion in which people from all backgrounds can fully contribute to the growth and success of its business.

As clinical research becomes increasingly complex, exceptional medical, operational, and regulatory expertise is required. This provides a wealth of opportunities for women to pursue rewarding and challenging STEM-related careers. Medpace’s partnership with AWIS will allow for a greater reach of engagement with young women who are interested in pursuing careers in clinical development.

“Medpace has a strong record in STEM hiring,” commented Amy Gasser Callow, JD, Vice President, Human Resources and Assistant General Counsel. “We are confident that this partnership will provide opportunities to engage with a diverse population of talented women along with valuable resources, including access to the local AWIS chapter, learnings from key women leaders, and virtual career fairs to attract STEM individuals.”

As part of their growth strategy, Medpace methodically looks to hire associates early in their careers, and they have a particular focus on early STEM career hiring. Statistics from Medpace’s 2021-22 Corporate Responsibility Report indicate that 67% of all associates globally are women, including 64% of management, 52% of employees at the Director level and above, and 38% of Medical Directors and the Executive Committee.

Working in an industry driven by innovation, Medpace offers a wide variety of science- and technology-based opportunities. Medpace Talent Acquisition attracts talented individuals, and their internship training programs develop associates to excel in disciplined operating models while instilling Medpace’s corporate culture and philosophy. Medpace offers top-notch training, growth opportunities, and flexibility in an innovative, global organization.
