Managing Time, Energy & Competing Priorities: The Front-Burner Reset
Led by: Tina McDermott
Thursday, November 12, 2026
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM ET
About the Session
When everything feels important, how do you decide what deserves the front burner? In STEM, deep work, deadlines, research, meetings, career development, and life outside work can all compete for limited time and energy.
In this interactive session, Tina McDermott introduces The Front-Burner Reset, a practical four-move framework for deciding what needs attention now, what can simmer, when to turn down the heat, and what can come off the stove. Participants will leave with practical strategies to protect focus and energy, navigate competing priorities, and make intentional choices without the guilt of trying to do everything at once.
Participants will learn to:
- Choose the Front Burner — identify what truly needs attention now.
- Let It Simmer — protect important work without treating everything as urgent.
- Turn Down the Heat — reset when pressure starts draining focus and energy.
- Take It Off the Stove — delegate, delay, simplify, or decline without guilt.
