Log in to our AWIS Community
We launched our online member community in October of 2022 to help bridge the geographical gaps between our members across the country. On our community, you can participate in various discussion threads, update your member profile with some of your own personality, and if you’re in a local chapter, join their private group! Introduce yourself on one of the threads, you will be welcomed with open arms.

Learn something new or brush up on your professional development
AWIS hosts a monthly webinar where we discuss topics ranging from how to enjoy the work you do, to salary negotiations. Register for our upcoming webinars and view our past programs to continue learning.
Get involved in your local community
AWIS has over 30 local chapters that members can participate in. Our online community is a great spot to connect with other members if you aren’t geographically close to a local chapter.
Increase Your Impact
Share your passion for advancing gender equity through volunteering for a committee or assuming a leadership position. You can also support your local community through grassroots advocacy.
Elevate yourself with our annual awards
Want to highlight yourself or another colleague and their work in the IDEA space? Our AWIS Annual Awards highlight members’ career achievements demonstrating strong leadership skills, innovative thinking, and a commitment to inclusivity, diversity, equity, and accessibility. Our annual awards cycle is from August to September, with awards announced in the fall.
Apply for a scholarship to further your STEM career or education
AWIS scholarships provide visibility and recognition of the contributions of brilliant scientists. The recipients offer role models and encouragement to the next generation. Our annual scholarship cycle is from December to February, with awards announced in the spring.
