Championing an innovative partnership with 23andme to expand opportunities for precision medicine – allowing doctors to find the right drug for the right patient.

Working with MIT to engage students with Pfizer projects. Pfizer received new perspectives from this young talent, and the students were able to grow, learn, and network.
Now she’s the Vice President, Global Head of Regulatory Affairs at Saniona, a biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing, and delivering innovative treatments for rare disease patients worldwide, such as Prader-Willi syndrome.
Dr. Carrillo-Rivas also has the vision to connect people and organizations. When presenting the award, AWIS Board Chair, Sue Windham-Bannister, PhD, described Dr. Carrillo-Rivas as a wonderful leader and inspiring role model for women in science. She challenges the status quo using data, has a continuous learner mindset, is persistent, passionate, fearless, yet humble and transparent. She values diversity, surrounds herself with others who know more, and stretches them to help them grow.
