What’s the most important leadership lesson you’ve learned?

The power of empathy. Listening actively, understanding diverse perspectives, and fostering an inclusive environment builds trust, boosts morale, and enhances team collaboration. Leading with empathy drives growth, unity, and success.

What do you consider to be your most important career achievement or milestone?

As a genomic scientist and next-generation sequencing (NGS) analyst, my most important achievement is developing a machine learning-driven statistical scoring system for analyzing genomic data of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) in Indian patients. This project advances personalized medicine by improving diagnostics and treatment strategies for leukemia.

What do you aspire to accomplish in your career and why? What obstacles will you overcome?

My goals is integrating bioinformatics, machine learning, and genomics to uncover disease mechanisms and develop targeted therapies. Overcoming challenges like data complexity, interdisciplinary collaboration, and keeping up with evolving technologies will be key to making this vision a reality.

Describe an amazing opportunity in your STEM career.

My NGS data analysis career was leading a project to develop a machine learning-based statistical scoring system for AML genomic data in Indian patients. This project allowed me to integrate genomics with personalized medicine, directly impacting diagnostics and treatment strategies for leukemia.

Magnanimous

How do you define it?

I describe myself as a magnanimous person, because I am living it as a live example.

How has this word influenced or inspired your career?

I am currently reading Deep Work by Cal Newport.

Embrace failure as a learning opportunity. It taught me resilience and the importance of persistence in both professional and personal growth, helping me adapt and improve.
