What’s the most important leadership lesson you’ve learned?
Great leaders inspire, adapt, and empower, fostering trust, collaboration, and strategic growth. Leadership is about mentoring, making data-driven decisions, and driving meaningful impact through innovation.
What do you consider to be your most important career achievement or milestone?
Pursuing my MBA to enhance my leadership, strategic thinking, and analytical skills, positioning me for greater impact in business and STEM. This milestone equips me to drive innovation, foster inclusivity, and lead systemic change in my industry.
What do you aspire to accomplish in your career and why? What obstacles will you overcome?
I aspire to lead transformative initiatives in business and STEM, fostering inclusivity and innovation while mentoring future leaders. To achieve this, as a woman, I will overcome gender biases, industry barriers, and leadership challenges, ensuring equitable opportunities for all.
Describe an amazing opportunity in your STEM career.
An amazing opportunity is pursuing my MBA, which equips me with leadership, analytical, and strategic skills to foster progress and inclusivity in STEM. This opportunity enhances my ability to bridge business and technology, mentor future leaders, and create systemic change.
How was AWIS helped you professionally and/or personally?
Although I recently joined AWIS, I already see its potential to connect me with a supportive network, mentorship opportunities, and valuable resources. I am excited to engage with industry leaders, gain insights, and contribute to advancing women in STEM.

I am currently reading The Lean Startup by Eric Ries, which offers valuable insights on innovation and business strategy.

Fatimoh Abimbola Mohammed is an MBA student in Business Analytics and Technology Management at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria. With over a decade of experience in business development, Operations & Supply Chain Management and marketing, she focuses on technology-driven growth. Beyond academics, she is passionate about mentorship, community service, and empowering women with startup businesses.
