Make a Meaningful Impact

Support the mission of AWIS and the professional journey of women scientists through a planned gift or estate gift.

Many people who are passionate about the AWIS mission are unable to contribute significantly during their lifetime, but they can leave a legacy gift to help champion the next generation. Thank you in advance for considering a planned gift!

Your generous donation will allow you to support AWIS and women scientists for years to come. Please note that planned gifts may result in tax benefits or have other financial planning implications. Please contact your tax or financial advisor to discuss your plans.

Legacy Donors help support the AWIS Mission. Will you join them?

Thank you to our past and future legacy donors!

AWIS was one of the first professional societies that I joined, while I was in graduate school at MIT in 1978. As the first and only woman in my graduate research group, it was very important to me to connect with other female scientists. AWIS has continued to be a source of inspiration and encouragement throughout my career, as I have actively worked to include and support female students, especially by creating hands-on opportunities to get engaged in hardware projects.

Linda Mantel
As a founding member of the Greater New York AWIS chapter in 1971, I have been a part of the organization since its inception 50 years ago. As the number of women in science and related areas has grown and changed, so AWIS has grown and changed. I am encouraged to see the diversity of women and the diversity of science that we do well represented in the Magazine and online. How to ensure the future of AWIS? Think ahead. I have made a planned gift for when I am no longer available to give my yearly support. AWIS is an important support and resource today, and will remain so in the future.

AWIS President, 1999-2001
As a woman scientist turned entrepreneur, I found AWIS to be an invaluable support network. I’m now able to give back so that the new generation of women in science have all the support and tools they need to advance their careers. Despite progress women have made, we still have a long way to go to be at parity. That means driving systemic, institutional change. I believe AWIS is poised to do that with its dedicated members, staff, and board. I chose to leave a planned gift in my will to help AWIS further advance women in science.
