Vanessa Wyche

Vanessa Wyche earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Materials Engineering and a Master’s of Science in Bioengineering from Clemson. She began her career at NASA in 1989. She has held multiple positions at NASA, including Project Manager within the Space and Life Sciences Directorate, and director of the Exploration Integration and Science Directorate at the Johnson Space Center. In 2018, Wyche was selected as the Johnson Space Center Deputy Director, and in 2021, appointed director of the Johnson Space Center. As director, she is responsible for spaceflight activities including development and operation of human spacecraft, NASA astronaut selection and training, and mission control.
