Jedidah C. Isler is an American astrophysicist and an advocate for diversity in STEM. After receiving her bachelor’s degree, Isler was one of the first three student members of the Fisk-Vanderbilt Master’s-to-PhD Bridge Program, a program designed to increase the number of under-represented minorities with STEM degrees. She earned a Masters in Physics and continued her education at Yale University, receiving her PhD in 2014. Her dissertation earned the Roger Doxsey Dissertation Prize from the American Astronomical Society. A strong advocate for diversity in STEM, in 2015 Isler founded #VanguardSTEM, an online platform and community designed to foster conversations and create support networks for women of color and non-binary people of color in STEM. Isler is currently the Chief Science Officer at the Federation of American Scientists.
