Andrea Delgado-Olson

Andrea Delgado-Olson is a computer scientist and Indigenous STEM advocate. She is a member of the Ione Band of Miwok Indians. Delgado-Olson began her career as a teacher, teaching pre-school for 15 years. She returned to school and received her Master’s Degree in computer science in 2014. Realizing that Native American women are severely underrepresented in computer science, she founded Native American Women in Computing (NAWiC) in 2014, which helps Indigenous women work in technology. She is currently the executive director of IndigiGenius, an Indigenous-led nonprofit working to increase the representation of Indigenous people in computer science. Delgado-Olson is a leader in digital equity, mentorship, and cultural visibility in tech spaces.
