Help AWIS champion women in science
Research shows that bees are critical in pollinating crops that humans depend on for survival. Knowing this, some of us have chosen to support our world by planting bee-friendly gardens.
Similarly, a diverse workforce is critical to the advancement of science. This knowledge often prompts companies to partner with AWIS or provide financial support. These donations or pro bono contributions help AWIS assist more women scientists in achieving their full potential — and empower them to contribute their research and innovations for the betterment of society.
Current corporate philanthropy opportunities include:
- Sponsor 2 AWIS members to attend advocacy training in Washington, DC ($3,000)
- Fund a part-time, paid internship for one year ($10,000)
- Fund a leadership training program for 10 members ($15,000)
- Fund the production of AWIS Magazine for one year ($20,000)
- Give an unrestricted donation of any amount to support the mission of AWIS.
Gifts greater than $1,000 will be honored in our annual report, unless you prefer to give anonymously.
Please contact awis@awis.org if you have any questions. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
Why other organizations support AWIS
“At Orion Environmental, we are committed to addressing the gender disparity in STEM fields. By matching employee donations to AWIS, we actively support an organization that empowers women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. We partnered with AWIS because it reflects the values of our workforce, where women make up more than 60% of our team and contribute across all departments. We believe that supporting initiatives that promote equal opportunities in STEM not only helps bridge the gender gap but also drives innovation and problem-solving in our industry. Empowering women in STEM is key to building a more inclusive, sustainable future.”

“Verisk Analytics is pleased to support AWIS’ efforts to empower women in pursuit of their passions in the sciences. As a leading data analytics and technology partner to the global insurance industry, with teams across more than 20 countries, we embrace an inclusive, global culture and believe in the power of community to change the world for the better. When our team was looking for organizations with similar values, we were impressed with AWIS’ 50-year history of championing women in science so they can reach their full potential. In particular, we wanted to support AWIS’ commitment to fostering a sense of belonging, not only as a means to promote inclusion, but also to drive scientific progress forward."
