AWIS Announces 2025 Loyalty Circle Inductees

WASHINGTON DC, September 12, 2025 – The Association for Women in Science (AWIS) is proud to recognize Drs. Cynthia A. D’Ambrosio and Andrea J. Tenner as the newest members of the AWIS Loyalty Circle. In honor of their 40 years of membership in the AWIS community, they will receive a complimentary lifetime membership.

“People often join AWIS as students or recent graduates looking for career support, resources, or networking connections, but AWIS offers support through all career stages and, more importantly, a sense of community,” said Meredith Gibson, CEO of AWIS. “I’m glad that Cynthia and Andrea found a home with AWIS, and I am so very grateful for their dedication to our mission.”

Dr. Cynthia A. D’Ambrosio is a retired regulatory consultant. She shared, “I have been an AWIS member since graduate school when I helped found the Philadelphia chapter of AWIS. The information and support that I have received over the years was tremendously important in securing and advancing in my career in the pharmaceutical industry.”

Dr. Andrea J. Tanner is a distinguished professor emerita at University of California, Irvine. She recalled, “AWIS was absolutely pivotal to my continuing in science as a young mother, wife, homemaker and scientist and also impactful later at multiple stages of my career and as a mentor to younger women. So many thanks to all at AWIS for sharing and maintaining the infrastructure for survival and growth.”
