Association for Women in Science Announces 2025 Scholarship Recipients
WASHINGTON DC, June 6, 2025 – The Association for Women in Science (AWIS) announces its 2025 Scholarship Awards recipients.
- The AWIS Opportunity Scholarships for Career Re-entry are awarded to Danielle Ogiamien and Samia Tasmim.
- The AWIS Distinguished Doctoral Research Scholarship is awarded to Dechen Sangmo.
- The First-Generation College Student Scholarships are awarded to Sushma Dhital, Sarah Michelle Espinoza-Leon, Suvi Lama, and Genesis Torres.
- The Kirsten R. Lorentzen Scholarship is awarded to Valentina Bonilla.
- The Dr. Vicki L. Schechtman Scholarship is awarded to Eleanor Gutstadt.
These scholarships are made possible by individual donors, corporate partners, and institutional partners. Thank you to the members of the Educational Awards Committee for their time and dedication to reviewing the many applications and selecting these finalists.
