What goals do you want to accomplish this year? The main benefit of a professional organization like AWIS is that it can help you achieve your professional goals!

Our annual scholarship applications are now open. If you are an undergraduate, pre-doctoral student, or returning to a STEM career, apply by February 28. This year we have over $50,000 available to award more recipients.

The new year could also mean a new career. Share your background, experience, and career goals with employers at the Virtual Career Fair on March 15, 2023. This is your chance to explore new opportunities, network with recruiters, and find your perfect fit. Plus, you can log into the event from anywhere using an internet-connected device.

It’s never too late to develop a new skill or adopt a new understanding of life. We just announced our 2023 programs through March.

  • January 26 at 3 p.m. ET — Dr. Beronda Montgomery draws the connection between plant and human behaviors to explore ways we can thrive as individuals and in diverse communities.
  • February 23 at 12 p.m. ET — Freelance scientific editor Ellen Kuwana will provide insight into a career in science writing and how to get there.
  • March 23 at 1 p.m. ET — Dr. Sherry Marts will introduce approaches and methods for ensuring that meetings are both diverse and inclusive.

Your professional journey does not have to be lonely. Our Online Member Community allows members to connect through discussions, sharing accomplishments, and asking questions. Create relationships with other members nationwide — professional relationships are important resources.

AWIS members have access to these benefits and more. If you’re not an AWIS member but your goals for 2023 align with our offerings, consider joining today!
